Tanglewood Fresh specializes in highly perishable and local produce.

Leafy Greens - We produce a variety of leafy greens, including single variety lettuces, mixed lettuce, arugula, spinach, kale, mustard greens and several Asian green varieties.

Culinary Herbs - We produce a variety of culinary herbs, primarily basil, cilantro, dill and parsley.

Microgreens - Micro is a general term we use to describe very young plants and encompasses sprouts, microgreens, micro herbs and shoots.

  • Sprouts - Sprouts have a very short growth cycle (usually 3-4 days) and are grown in a soil-less environment under high moisture and low light conditions.  The end product is a white or yellowish sprout that is consumed whole, from root to tip.  Sprouts are well known for their extreme nutrient density and health benefits.  Common sprouts include mung bean, soybean, broccoli, alfalfa and radish.  Tanglewood Fresh is not currently offering any sprouts, but with enough demand we will consider production.

  • Microgreens - Microgreens are very similar to sprouts in many regards but are usually grown in soil and under light for 7-14 days.  The end product is a colorful, flavorful, miniature plants.  Microgreens are prized for their similar characteristics to their full sized plants but typically with more intense flavor, higher nutrient density and great aesthetic appeal.  Common microgreens include radish, beet, arugula and our superfood mix.

  • Micro Herbs - Micro herbs are simply micro versions of herb plants.  They are very small plants with the same flavor as the leaves of larger plants, but are often very potent.  They make a great accent to dishes that you're looking for both flavor and visual appeal or for herb applications where the more intense flavor is desired.  Common micro herbs include basil, cilantro, fennel and parsley.

  • Shoots - Shoots are just a name we give to larger microgreens.  On our farm, we categorize anything that uses more than 4 oz of seed per 10x20 seedling flat to be a shoot.  Common shoots include sunflower, pea, buckwheat and popcorn.

Below is a list of microgreen products we are currently producing or able to produce.

Cor4:  The Tanglewood Fresh Cor4 Products are our four best selling varieties both among restaurants and individuals.  They include Sunflower Shoots, Pea Shoots, our Micro Radish Mix and our Superfood/Classic Chef's Mix.  We always have production of these products on hand, just in case we receive orders on short notice.

Special Order or As Available:  Special Order Products are varieties and mixes that we produce only by special order or sometimes on a rotational basis.  If you're interested in these products, you can wait until supply is available or you can special order.  For special orders, we require 14 days advanced notice on most products and a minimum purchase of 8 oz (30 days and 4 oz for micro herbs*) to justify growing a crop.  All special order products are available cut and packaged or living.
